SAIL Mission Statement
The Stress Assessment and Intervention Lab (SAIL) is determined to highlight theory driven research and clinical practice to build our capacity for understanding and predicting mental processes and individual's behavior while respecting the diversity of people in the context of a global society.
We are dedicated to improving the effectiveness of mental health services delivered to youth, families, schools, and community mental health partnerships.
We study innovation in developmental trajectories of anxiety and depression, mental health treatment design, clinical decision-making and informant discrepancies, and youth access to mental health systems and processes.
We train and mentor clinical and school psychology students at the doctoral, masters, and undergraduate levels. Our lab is designed to help students identify and leverage their unique strengths to maximize their personal and professional impact on the quality of mental health services for youth and families, whether that be through research, service, innovation, or industry. We strive to produce alumni who will make a meaningful difference in the lives of our community members.
We believe that mental health services are a fundamental human right, that all children possess incredible potential and represent the best investment in our collective future. We aspire to see science used to improve public health and build stronger communities. We hope our work reflects the actions of our values, respect, responsibility, compassion, diversity, service, and rationality.
